Acoustic Ruler Pro App Reviews

A measurement with two iPhone 4s devices at 30 ft was accurate to within half an inch (and the 30 ft measurement with the tape was just eyeballed). Theres some impressive software in here!

Its not something you need everyday but thats the whole point of this App. You have it when you need it and its cheap enough that anyone can just download it quickly in case you need a second phone. Ive used the small screen bases ruler app quite a bit and was always hoping for an app that could measure longer distance. Love it.

Pretty cool, although it is loud. Got accurate measurements but my coworkers thought I was sending out an anti riot weapon!

This is an awesome app. It really works.

Not a very good substitute for a ruler as the readings fluctuate and need to be double checked. It is an interesting project but it is not a tool.

This app emits an ungodly loud chirping from the left channel of your headphones during calibration and use. You will wreck whatever is plugged into this so use a cheap pair. Even with ll that the measurement tool did not work.

I hace two iPhones and its an interesting toy. Pushes the boundaries of what can be done which I laud.

Works as expected and more. Definitely a keeper.

BEST measuring app in the store!

Being the geek that I am, I just had to try this app. THE best measuring app ever!! I cant wait to see more apps by this publisher person XD ( Im so amazed by the app I cant think of the word right now.... Just insert amazing followed by whatever noun you see fit)

Saw on apps gone free and decided to check it out since wanted to measure a large room without getting out the tape measure. Only instructions are to calibrate the device. Didnt see option to actually measure unless it the calibration screen doubles as the tool. Doubt was working right since was giving me negative measurements along with random positive ones. I was holding the left earpiece against the mic as pictured the whole time. Only potential seen is as an entertainment app to annoy others with the horrid sound it emits during use....

This app was brought to my attention by AppsGoneFree (a great app that highlights any vendors who have discounted their app for free on a particular day. I highly recommend it.) Now back to this measurement app that I decided to check out because it was well-rated and because the other measuring app currently installed on my phone is not very good. However when I started to actually read the reviews for this app, it was obvious to me that the reviews were phony (read a few for yourself; I especially like the reviewer who wrote that she couldnt think of the right word to express how amazing this app was. Please...). Nevertheless, even knowing I was likely in murky waters, I downloaded the app and tried it out. As my headline stares, u need to have a pair of wired headsets handy with or without a microphone, so the app can calibrate itself. I tried two different headsets with or without a mic. As for results, let me be clear when I state that a BLIND person could have given me a more accurate measurement of a specific distance than this pathetic app. And I did try to measure in more than one spot. Its apparent that the sound technology used for determining distance on this app is in need of a overhaul, if it ever worked in the first place. Do NOT waste your time downloading it, and definitely do NOT pay anything for it. Not only is it a bad app but the vendor has resorted to having his friends write positive reviews in hopes of scamming some trusting person who is genuinely looking for an app to measure distances to get it. But it is not to be on this page. Run!

Awesome app for quick measurement works great with two phones.

Tried it out today using my iPad and iPhone. Works very well. Obviously (and its very clearly stated in the app description) it isnt guaranteed to give you extremely precise measurements, but I checked the measurements I received against a tape measure and all were within 1/8" - 1/2" I did make sure to set them temp. to my current location. I managed to get it while it was free but I think $1.99 is a fair price. I feel the need to comment on those who are complaining, having purchases the app before reading the app description, or simply following the calibration instructions. Why!? MOTHER OF SOBBING CHRIST... Why do people give apps terrible reviews when they have clearly purchased the app without reading about any limitations or instructions the app description has for them to freely read before purchase? I understand if the app seller hides these things, but not when theyre clearly stated. Its unfortunate.

As a audio engineer this app is just amazing ! I use it all the time now.
